Milicom Launches 4G in Bolivia, Brings High-Speed Mobile Internet for 10.5 Million People.

Milicom, a Luxembourg-based international telecommunications and media company with extensive presence across Latin American and Africa is launching 4G services in Bolivia via its subsidiary, Tigo. The 4G high-speed internet service provides subscribers speeds of up to 100 Mbps and is the second 4G service launched by Milicom, after the initial roll-out in Colombia in 

According to a statement from Milicom, Bolivia whose population stands at 10.5 million has more than 3 million internet users, with 95% accessing it via mobile connections. Tigo's 4G services will be offered on a $50 monthly shared plan package that allows connections to multiple devices via the Mifi link. Milicom also said that 50% of Bolivians will have access to the service and this will be expanded to 70% by 2018.
